How Much Is My Claim Worth?

The amount that you may receive for a successful Legionnaires’ Disease claim will depend on factors such as severity, length of recovery and outcome.

The effect that the illness has had will influence the compensation award made for the illness:

If a full and comparatively quick recovery was made following treatment, the amount of compensation is likely to be less than if you are still suffering, which in turn would generally be less than the more extreme cases where the patient has subsequently died as a result of the illness or complications arising from it.

In some cases where the patient has made a full recovery – compensation amounts can be up to £25,000.

In cases where the disease has taken longer to recover from, or in situations where work has been impacted and income has been reduced, or other expenses have been incurred, then the compensation amount is likely to reflect those costs and losses – in such cases, amounts from £25,000 – £50,000 are not uncommon.

In cases where Legionaries’ disease has led to the death of a patient, then the amount of compensation can be very high – £100,000 or significantly more in compensation.
